Gentle Happy Sweet Playful Smart
Cocker Spaniels are happy, affectionate, good natured dogs. They are easily trained, gentle, and playful. Well known to be a great family dog, they are eager to please and eager to be part of the family.
As a medium dog, at full grown they weigh less than 30 pounds. They are happy to go outside to play, or stay inside and snuggle. When properly trained through positive feedback, love, and affection, you will have an affectionate and well behaved dog. They are very people oriented, so they prefer spending their time with you. A well-bred Cocker should be easy to house train, happy to be with you, and eager to experience new things with you. They also do well with other dogs and cats when they have been socialized from a young age.
They do well in apartments to homes, but should never be kept outdoors. They need to be with you and your family. They moderately shed and need to be brushed a few times a week.
As a sporting breed, daily walks and games of fetch help keep your Cocker happy and healthy.
